Easter in the Italian Countryside
Mark had always heard about Italyโs rich cultural traditions but had never experienced them firsthand. That changed when he spent Easter in a small village in Tuscany with his Italian friend, Lucia. The week leading up to Easter was filled with events: processions through the streets, the baking of traditional colomba cakes, and decorating eggs with children. Easter Sunday began with a grand church service followed by an enormous feast of lamb, artichokes, and homemade pasta. Mark was struck by how the holiday brought the entire community together, creating a sense of belonging he had rarely experienced before.
