The New Neighbors
One day, Emily’s family moves to a new house. Emily is excited but also a little nervous. She doesn’t know anyone in the new neighborhood.
After they move in, Emily goes outside to explore. She sees a house across the street. A girl is playing in the yard.
Emily waves. “Hi, I’m Emily. I just moved here!”
The girl smiles. “Hi, Emily! I’m Mia. I live here with my family.”
Mia and Emily talk for a while. They decide to play together. They run around the yard, play tag, and climb on the swings.
Mia says, “Do you want to come to my house?” Emily is happy. “Yes, I’d love to!”
Mia’s house is big and full of toys. They play inside, then go outside again to ride bikes. “You are my best friend now!” Mia says.
Emily smiles. “I’m so glad I moved here.”
From that day on, Mia and Emily are always together. They have many fun adventures and become best friends.
