The Little Lost Dog

A1

One sunny morning, Lily goes to the park with her mom. They are walking by the lake when Lily sees a small dog sitting under a tree. The dog looks sad.
Mom, look! That dog is alone,” Lily says.
Lily’s mom says, “Let’s help the dog.”
Lily and her mom walk to the dog. “Hello, little dog. Are you lost?” Lily asks. The dog barks.
Lily sees a collar on the dog’s neck. It has a name tag. “The dog’s name is Max!” she says.
They decide to take Max to the park’s office. “Maybe someone is looking for him,” Lily’s mom says.
At the office, the workers look at Max’s collar. “We know this dog! His owner lives near here,” they say.
Lily and her mom walk Max to his owner’s house. The door opens, and a woman says, “Max! Where have you been?”
I found him in the park,” Lily says. “He was lost.”
The woman smiles. “Thank you, Lily! Max is very happy to be home.”
Lily feels proud. “I’m happy too,” she says.
