The Trailblazing Suffragette
In 1915, Abigail, a schoolteacher in Kansas, became involved in the women’s suffrage movement. Despite resistance from her community, Abigail organized rallies, distributed pamphlets, and lobbied local politicians. Her tireless efforts helped Kansas become one of the states to support women’s voting rights. When the 19th Amendment was passed in 1920, Abigail cast her first vote with tears in her eyes. Her story inspired other women to fight for equality and remain active in civic life.
