The Long-Distance Love

B2

Emily had always dreamed of living in a big city, so when she got a job offer in New York, she couldn’t turn it down. However, this meant leaving her boyfriend, Tom, behind in their small hometown. They promised to make the long-distance relationship work, but the distance wasn’t easy.

They wrote letters, had long video calls, and visited each other whenever they could. But as time passed, Emily began to feel the strain of being far away from Tom. On a particularly lonely night, she received a surprise visit from Tom. He had traveled all the way to New York to remind her that love could survive even the greatest distances.

Oliver found an old journal in his grandmother's attic. The journal belonged to a time traveler who had visited different places in history, from the pyramids of Egypt to the streets of ancient Rome. But the journal had one page left blanka page that seemed to be waiting for Oliver. As he wrote in the journal, he found himself transported to the places he described! Oliver ’s adventures took him to ancient civilizations, future cities, and even to the first moments of the universe. Along the way, he learned that time is not as fixed as it seems, and the choices we make can change history.
