The Wilderness Challenge
Julia
was
a
city
dweller
who
had
never
ventured
far
from
Toronto.
Her
friends
convinced
her
to
join
a
week-long
wilderness
retreat
in
Algonquin
Park.
Reluctantly,
she
agreed,
unsure
of
what
to
expect.
The
trip
tested
Julia
in
ways
she
hadn’t
imagined.
She
struggled
with
pitching
tents,
paddling
canoes,
and
dealing
with
relentless
mosquitoes.
But
as
the
days
passed,
she
began
to
appreciate
the
tranquility
of
the
forest,
the
call
of
loons
on
the
lake,
and
the
camaraderie
of
her
group.
By
the
end
of
the
trip,
Julia
had
grown
more
confident
and
resilient.
She
returned
to
Toronto
with
a
newfound
love
for
Canada’s
vast
wilderness
and
a
determination
to
explore
more
of
her
country.
