The Anniversary Box
Emma and Daniel had been married 40 years , and every year on their anniversary , they opened their “Anniversary Box” . The box contained letters they wrote to each other on their wedding day , as well as small mementos from the life they built together . One year , Daniel fell ill and passed away a few months before their anniversary . Emma hesitated to open the box alone but decided to honor their tradition . Inside , she found an unopened letter from Daniel addressed to her “ For the day I can’t be there” . In the letter , Daniel shared his love and gratitude for their life together , urging her to continue filling the box with new memories . Inspired , Emma began writing letters to Daniel , placing them in the box , and encouraging their grandchildren to create their own “Anniversary Boxes” .
